Lily Pond

The lily pond project was installed on the playa at Burning Man 2002. Just under 300 individual lily pads on 2 foot stalks lit a 3500 square foot 'pond'. Each lily pad had a solar array on top and a blue LED mounted underneath, and a chosen few had resident dragon flies and lotus blossoms. Several koi fish could be seen swimming in the calm blue waters. The Lily Pond project was a collaborative effort conceived and directed by Jeremy Lutes of Light Fantastic. Sunbrothers, in a support role with many others, performed solar array design and fabrication, lotus flower glasswork, and provided general design and installation assistance.
